Mechanical governors

Are commonly centrifugal governors, their purpose is to maintain a near constant speed on a prime mover (engine or turbine).
These governors are typically self-contain, meaning that they have a close loop system.

Actuators are similar to the Governors, but unlike the governors, they require an electronic governor to dictate how much of the fuel rack should be open.
